PERMACULTURE & ECOLOGICAL DESIGN

Designing Landscapes That Work With Nature

From private farmhouses to regenerative resorts and larger land developments, we design living landscapes where ecology, functionality and long-term value come together.

The Green Loom, in collaboration with Amol Ghag, brings together decades of collective experience in organic farming, permaculture, ecological design and working with the land.

We work with landowners, developers, hospitality groups and institutions to create landscapes that are productive, resilient, beautiful and designed for the future.

OUR WORK IS ROOTED IN A SIMPLE PRINCIPLE

Good development should not work against the land.
It should work with it.

FROM FARMING KNOWLEDGE TO LANDSCAPE DESIGN

Our Partnership Has a Personal Beginning

Seeza Bhardwaj and Amol Ghag studied organic farming together with Dr. Vandana Shiva, gaining an early understanding of soil, biodiversity, food systems and the interconnectedness of natural ecosystems.

What began as a shared learning journey grew into years of independent work in ecological agriculture and land-based systems.

Today, that friendship has evolved into a professional partnership.

With this collaboration we bring together complementary strengths in ecological thinking, permaculture, regenerative systems, landscape planning and practical execution to take on projects across North India and, increasingly, international markets.

WHAT WE DESIGN

Every Project Shaped by Its Land

We work across a range of land and development contexts, adapting every project to its geography, purpose and long-term vision.

Farmhouses & Private Estates

Transforming private land into productive, beautiful and low-input landscapes — integrating food forests, orchards, water systems, native planting, kitchen gardens and natural ecosystems.

Eco-Friendly Resorts & Hospitality

Creating destination landscapes that become part of the guest experience — from edible landscapes and biodiversity zones to regenerative gardens, water systems and nature-based experiences.

Townships & Large Land Developments

Integrating ecological principles at a larger scale through landscape planning, water-sensitive design, biodiversity corridors, productive landscapes and resource-conscious systems.

Regenerative Farms

Designing productive agricultural ecosystems based on the natural characteristics of the land, with emphasis on soil health, water management, biodiversity and long-term resilience.

Ecological Landscapes

Creating landscapes that are not simply ornamental, but functional — where trees, plants, water, soil, people and built spaces work as one interconnected system.

Institutional & Community Projects

Developing ecological spaces for schools, wellness centres, retreats, communities and organisations seeking meaningful connections between people and nature.

OUR APPROACH

Understand the Land Before Designing It.

Every site has its own story.

Climate, topography, soil, existing vegetation, water movement, microclimates, surrounding ecosystems and the way people will use the space all influence the design.

We begin by understanding these relationships.

01

SITE & LAND ASSESSMENT

Understanding the land, its natural systems, opportunities and constraints.

02

ECOLOGICAL MASTER PLANNING

Developing a comprehensive landscape strategy integrating water, soil, vegetation, food systems, biodiversity, access and built spaces.

03

REGENERATIVE DESIGN

Introducing systems that improve the land over time rather than simply consuming its resources.

04

IMPLEMENTATION

Translating the design into a functioning landscape through phased, practical execution.

05

LONG-TERM EVOLUTION

Living systems change. We provide guidance to help landscapes mature, adapt and become increasingly resilient over time.

MORE THAN LANDSCAPING

A conventional landscape is often designed primarily for appearance.

We look at the land as a living system.

A tree can provide shade, food, habitat, soil improvement and carbon storage.
A water body can become a habitat, irrigation source, cooling element and landscape feature.
A productive garden can become part of a resort's guest experience.
A carefully designed landscape can reduce external inputs while increasing biodiversity and long-term productivity.

The objective is not to add nature to a project.

It is to design the project as part of nature.

WHERE ECOLOGY MEETS VALUE

Sustainability From the Beginning

Sustainability should not be an afterthought or a decorative layer added to a development.

When ecological systems are considered from the beginning, they can influence the way a property functions, feels and performs over the long term.

We believe the most successful landscapes are those that become more valuable, more productive and more alive with time.

OUR APPROACH CAN HELP CREATE:

✦More resilient landscapes
✦Better water management
✦Healthier soils
✦Increased biodiversity
✦Productive landscapes
✦Lower dependence on external inputs
✦Meaningful nature-based experiences
✦Stronger ecological identity for hospitality and real-estate projects

THE PARTNERSHIP

Two Journeys, One Platform

Two journeys that began with a shared education in ecological farming are now coming together to create a broader platform for regenerative land development.

Amol Ghag, founder of Ficus Panda, brings deep expertise in permaculture, regenerative farm design, agroforestry, water systems and on-ground implementation.

Together, we combine ecological understanding with practical design and execution.

THE PARTNERSHIP IS BASED ON A SHARED BELIEF

The future of development is not about choosing between progress and ecology.
It is about designing them together.

HAVE LAND. HAVE A VISION.

Let's Design What It Can Become.

Let's create landscapes that are beautiful today — and stronger tomorrow.
